The Social Security (Contributions) Amendment (No. 6) Regulations 1985

The Secretary of State for Social Services, in exercise of powers conferred upon him by section 1 of the Social Security Pensions Act 1975 (a) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following regulations:—

Citation, interpretation and commencement

1. These regulations, which may be cited as the Social Security (Contributions) Amendment (No. 6) Regulations 1985, amend the Social Security (Contributions) Regulations 1979 (b) (hereinafter referred to as "the principal regulations") and shall come into operation on 6th April 1986.

Amendment of regulation 7 of the principal regulations

2. In regulation 7 of the principal regulations (lower and upper earnings limits for Class 1 contributions)—

(a) for the words "6th April 1985" there shall be substituted the words "6th April 1986"; and

(b) for "£35.50" and "£265" there shall be substituted respectively "£38" and "£285".
