The Social Security (Treasury Supplement to Contributions) (No. 2) Order 1984

Whereas a draft of the following Order was laid before Parliament in accordance with the provisions of section 167(1) of the Social Security Act 1975(a) and approved by resolution of each House of Parliament:

Now, therefore, the Secretary of State for Social Services, with the consent of the Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred upon him by section 1(5A) of the Social Security Act 1975(b) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—

Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Social Security (Treasury Supplement to Contributions) (No. 2) Order 1984 and shall come into operation on 6th April 1985.

Alteration of Treasury supplement to contributions

2. In section 1(5) of the Social Security Act 1975 (Treasury supplement to contributions to be a fixed percentage of so much of all contributions paid in the year concerned as remains after deducting the appropriate national health service allocation and the appropriate employment protection allocation)(c) for the words "11 per cent." (d) there shall be substituted the words "9 per cent.".
