The Customs Duties (ECSC) (Quota and Other Reliefs) (Amendment) Order 1983

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1 of the Customs and Excise Duties (General Reliefs) Act 1979(a) and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Order:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Customs Duties (ECSC) (Quota and Other Reliefs) (Amendment) Order 1983 and shall come into operation on 1st April 1983.

2. Articles 2 and 3 of the Customs Duties (ECSC) (Quota and Other Reliefs) Order 1982(b) shall cease to apply to products originating in Yugoslavia and references to Yugoslavia in Part III of Schedule 1 and in Schedule 2 to that Order shall accordingly be deleted.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This Note is not part of the Order.)

This Order, which comes into operation on 1st April 1983, amends the Customs Duties (ECSC) (Quota and Other Reliefs) Order 1982 which provides for reliefs from customs duty on certain iron and steel products originating in certain developing countries including Yugoslavia in accordance with a Decision 82/862/ECSC of the representatives of the governments of the Member States of the European Coal and Steel Community meeting within the Council on 8th December 1982 (OJ No L363, 23.12.1982, p.213).
