The Agricultural Land Tribunals (Areas) (Amendment) Order 1976

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 73(1) of the Agriculture Act 1947(a), as amended by paragraph 3 of Schedule 1 to the Agriculture Act 1958(b), hereby makes the following Order:—

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Agricultural Land Tribunals (Areas) (Amendment) Order 1976 and shall come into operation on 17th March 1976.

(2) The Interpretation Act 1889(c) shall apply to the interpretation of this Order as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

(3) In this Order "the principal Order" means the Agricultural Land Tribunals (Areas) Order 1974(d).

2. The principal Order is hereby amended by attaching the Boston and South Holland districts of Lincolnshire (formerly comprised in the Eastern Area) to the East Midland Area:

Provided that nothing in this Article shall affect the jurisdiction of the Agricultural Land Tribunal for the Eastern Area to deal with proceedings pending in that tribunal on the coming into operation of this Order.

3. The Schedule to the principal Order shall accordingly be amended:

(a) in respect of the entry relating to the East Midland Area:—

(i) in column 2, by adding "Lincolnshire";

(ii) in column 3, by deleting the words "all districts of Lincolnshire except Boston and South Holland";

(b) in respect of the entry relating to the Eastern Area, in column 3, by deleting the item relating to the districts of Lincolnshire.
