The
development
of
communications
affects
the evolution
of
political
geography.
But
communication
is
quite
a
complex
equation,
and
new
communication
networks
are
not
sufficient
to
suppress
barriers
to
communication.
In
this
context
what
are
the
new
emerging
barriers?
The
development
of
communications
is
likely
to
provide
new
solutions
so
that
global
change
may
take
place
in
favourable
conditions
for
societies,
for
instance
by
obtaining
the
optimum
use
of
all
technical
urban
networks
for
improving
the
management
of
towns.

des

villes
europeennes

villes
sont
des
points

la
mise
en
reseau
des
lieux,
donc
de
l’int6gration
des
espaces.
On
suppose
alors
que
1’armature
urbaine
des
metropoles
europ6ennes
constitue

terrain

pr6dilection
pour
l’observation
des
ph6nom6nes
d’int6gration
et
d’unification
de
1’espace
europ6en.
L’analyse
des
6changes
interurbains
(a6riens
et
ferroviaires)
permet
de
mettre
en
6vidence
les
maillons
forts
de
cette
integration
ou
au
contraire
les
effets
de
barri~re
qui
entra-
vent
l’intensification
des
6changes.

habituellement
