THE AGRICULTURE (CERTIFICATES OF BAD HUSBANDRY) REGULATIONS, 1948.

The Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries, in pursuance of section thirty of the Agriculture Act, 1947, and of paragraphs two and three of the Fifth Schedule thereto, and of all other powers enabling him in that behalf, hereby makes the following Regulations:—

1. An application to the Minister for a certificate under paragraph (a) of sub-section (1) of section thirty of the Act shall be made in writing, signed by the applicant and served on the Secretary of the Committee, and shall set forth in detail the reasons for the application.

2. The period at the expiration of which the Minister shall, if he has not given notice in writing to the landlord and to the tenant that he proposes to grant or refuse the certificate and has not made an order having the like effect as a supervision order under Part II of the Act, be deemed to have given notice in writing to the landlord and to the tenant that he proposes to refuse the certificate, shall be six weeks from the date of service of the application under the preceding regulation.

3.—(1) In these Regulations, the following expressions have the meanings hereby assigned to them:—

"The Act" means the Agriculture Act, 1947;

"The Minister" means the Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries;

"The Committee" means the County Agricultural Executive Committee for the administrative county in which is situated or deemed to be situated the holding affected by the application, or (in case the said holding is situated or deemed to be situated in more than one administrative county) in which is situated or deemed to be situated the greater part of the said holding.

(2) The Interpretation Act, 1889, shall apply to the interpretation of these Regulations as it applies to the interpretation of an Act of Parliament.

4.—(1) These Regulations may be cited as the Agriculture (Certificates of Bad Husbandry) Regulations, 1948, and apply to England and Wales.

(2) These Regulations shall come into operation on the first day of March, 1948.
