Strictly and I'm A Celebrity star AJ Pritchard has made his first TV appearance after the news that his girlfriend Abbie Quinnen was left with third degree burns after a social media prank went horribly wrong.
The couple were attempting to copy a viral video on turning a wine bottle into a vase in January when things took a terrifying turn as the bottle exploded and Abbie was set in fire, leaving her engulfed in flames.
Speaking about the incident on Tuesday's This Morning, AJ, who quit Strictly last year before going into a castle in Wales for I'm A Celebrity 2020, explained: "There's a tutorial to just follow online and unfortunately it went horribly wrong. I think what's really scary is that her clothes caught light, her hair caught light and it all happened so fast, yet felt like a lifetime of a scenario."
On how he responded to the situation, AJ said: "As soon as the fire on her body, on her hair, on her skin was out we covered her in damp towels, we called 999, we did everything we thought was the right thing to do and to get her to A&E as soon as possible.
"Thankfully, Curtis his Love Island star brother was here to help. Abbie was in shock, I was trying to keep Abbie calm, Curtis was trying to keep me calm and get us both to the hospital."
Revealing he felt 'emotionally torn' after taking Abbie to Ealing Hospital and not being able to go in with her due to COVID restrictions, AJ told This Morning hosts Phillip and Holly he sat outside the hospital...
