THE ALIENS (EMPLOYMENT) (POLISH RESETTLEMENT FORCES) ORDER, 1948.

9thFebruary 1948

In pursuance of the power conferred on me by Article 11 of the Aliens Order, 1920(a), as subsequently amended, I hereby order as follows:—

1. An alien to whom this Order applies shall not become, or continue to be, engaged in any business, profession or occupation for reward, otherwise than in the service of an employer, in the United Kingdom without the permission of the Secretary of State:

Provided that an alien may continue to be engaged in any business, profession or occupation for reward if before the coming into force of this Order he engaged in that business, profession or occupation with the permission of the Secretary of State.

2. Exemptions from the provisions of this Order may be granted in writing to any alien by or on behalf of the Secretary of State, and any exemption so granted may be for a specified period and subject to conditions and may be cancelled or varied by or on behalf of the Secretary of State.

3.—(1) This Order applies to any alien who—

(a) being a member of any of the Polish resettlement forces, is on leave from any of the said forces for more than sixteen days;

(b) being a member of any of the said forces, has been released from actual service therewith; or

(c) has been a member of any of the said forces.
