This Morning viewers got a surprise on Thursday when Andi Peters joined Rochelle Humes to host the show.

Things have run far from smoothly on the ITV daytime programme this week.

What was meant to be a glorious presenting debut for guest host Vernon Kay was thrown into disarray after the I'm A Celebrity finalist tested positive for coronavirus.

The former Family Fortunes star confirmed over the weekend that Vernon Kay's This Morning debut ruined by COVID as guest host breaks silence to update fans as planned, telling The Sun : "I'm absolutely gutted that because of a positive COVID test I'm no longer able to present on This Morning next week with Rochelle nor do Radio 2 guest hosting and Steve Wright's cover, two iconic shows which I've been a fan of for decades."

Eamonn Holmes stood in for Vernon, days after he and wife Ruth Langsford said their goodbyes to viewers at the end of a seven week stint as main This Morning presenters.

Alison Hammond, herself missing in action on Monday, was back to join Rochelle on Wednesday and then on Thursday, at the end of Lorraine, it was former Live and Kicking host Andi who was stood next to her.
