The Army, Air Force and Naval Discipline Acts (Continuation) Order 1994

Whereas a draft of this Order has been laid before Parliament and approved by a resolution of each House of Parliament:

Now, therefore, Her Majesty, in pursuance of section 1(2) of the Armed Forces Act 19911, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

S-1 The Army Act 1955 , the Air Force Act 1955 and the Naval...

1. The Army Act 19552, the Air Force Act 19553and the Naval Discipline Act 19574shall continue in force for a period of twelve months beyond 31st August 1994, that day being the day on which they would otherwise expire.

S-2 This Order may be cited as the Army, Air Force and Naval...

2. This Order may be cited as the Army, Air Force and Naval Discipline Acts (Continuation) Order 1994.

Section 1(1) of the Armed Forces Act 1991 provided that the Army Act 1955, the Air Force Act 1955 and the Naval Discipline Act 1957 should continue in force until m31st August 1992 and should then expire unless continued in force in accordance with the section. The Army, Air Force and Naval Discipline Acts (Continuation) Orders 1992 and 1993 (S.I. 1992/1712and S.I. 1993/1804respectively) each enabled those Acts to continue in force for a further period of 12 months.

This Order enables the Acts to continue in force for a further period of 12 months beyond 31st August 1994.
