Asda and Morrisons issue urgent food recalls over health fears including salmonella; As the two supermarket giants launch the recall notices the Food Standards Agency issues an alert to customers about the products.

Supermarket giants Asda and Morrison have issued food recall notices due to health fears, including salmonella.

They are urging customers who may have purchased the items to return them to stores for a full refund.

Asda has recalled its own brand 2 Original Chicken Chargrills over fears it may contain salmonella.

The pack size concerned is the two pack, 170g with a best before date of September 5, 2022.

The Food Standards Agency has issued a warning saying: "Symptoms caused by salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea and abdominal cramps."

Morrisons have recalled its own brand Choco Crackles breakfast cereal because it may contain pieces of plastic.

It concerns the 375g pack size with a best before date of November 2021.

The FSA warning states "The presence of plastic in some of the product's packs makes it unsafe to eat as it could be harmful."
