Villa Park redevelopment statement

Aston Villa have shared updated plans for the redevelopment of the North Stand at Villa Park.

The club has submitted a series of amendments as part of a revised planning application to Birmingham City Council , which include minor changes to the North Stand. There are also new plans for the existing Academy building.

The redevelopment will see Villa Park's capacity increase to over 50,000.

A Villa statement read: "Aston Villa can confirm the Club’s updated plans for the redevelopment of the North Stand and its immediate vicinity.

Pre-season squad confirmed

Aston Villa have announced a 26-man squad that has departed for the United States to take part in the Premier League Summer Series.

Unai Emery's side will step up their pre-season preparations in America following their friendly fixture against Walsall last weekend. Villa drew 1-1 at the Bescot Stadium.

They will return to action this Sunday July 23 when they face Newcastle United in Philadelphia. Three days later, they will take on Fulham in Orlando Wednesday, July 26.

Villa will then finish their tour in Maryland, facing Brentford in their final game on Sunday July 30.
