INVITATION
Tena Koutou katoa!
The AES extends a warm invitation to all those involved in evaluation – whether as
practitioners, managers, academics, students, users of evaluation or others with an
interest in evaluation – to take part in the 2003 conference in Auckland/Tamaki
Makaurau.
The goals of this year’s conference are to challenge thinking about evaluation, and to
build evaluation capacity and integrity in Australasia by linking the profession to the
community at large. In doing this, a model of partnership will be used which reflects
the culture of Aotearoa New Zealand, particularly in relation to partnership between
Maori and Pakeha.
We expect a strong Maori, Pacific and indigenous Australian presence at this conference and
have a number of key speakers from these groups.
Our workshop offerings this year are outstanding and we encourage you to take every
opportunity for professional development by booking into one or two of those being run
prior to the conference.
The conference will be based on the learning principle which acknowledges that adults bring
valuable knowledge and experiences to their own professional development. It is intended
that the design of conference activities will encourage participation, particularly from people
who experience evaluation, and from newcomers to the profession.
Come and be challenged!
