Among the onlookers at Canalside was Town coach Carlos Corberan.

A number of first-teamers started the game against the Owls, including goalkeeper Joel Pereira, midfielder Alex Vallejo and defenders Demeaco Duhaney and Rarmani Edmonds- Green.

The latter pair played 45 minutes before being subbed at the interval.

The first half ended goalless but Town fashioned plenty of chances, with Kieran Phillips volleying wide and Vallejo also coming close.

Phillips, who was on the bench for the first team's draw at Wycombe on Tuesday night, opened the scoring with a deft finish on the hour mark after Jaden Brown teed him up.

It was another example of Phillips' prowess in front of goal and will only strengthen the calls for him to get a chance in the first XI.

Phillips' opener was added to just seven minutes later.

Substitute Will McCamley doubled the advantage with a simple finish.
