The Banking Act 1987 (Exempt Persons) Order 1993

Made 30th March 1993

Laid before Parliament 2nd April 1993

Coming into force 23th April 1993

The Treasury, in exercise of the powers conferred on them by section 4(3) of the Banking Act 19871and of all other powers enabling them in that behalf, and after consultation with the Bank of England, hereby order as follows:

S-1 Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Banking Act 1987 (Exempt Persons) Order 1993 and shall come into force on 23rd April 1993.

S-2 Exemption

2. Schedule 2 to the Banking Act 1987 shall be amended by the addition of the following new entry after the entry numbered 26—

S-27

27. The Council of Europe Resettlement Fund.”.

This Order adds The Council of Europe Resettlement Fund to the list in Schedule 2 to the Banking Act 1987 of persons exempted from section 3 of that Act (restriction on acceptance of deposits.
