This is, in its way, a remarkable book. Intended primarily for
students, although of much wider appeal, it deals with criminal
law in less than 500 pages, and the price is kept down to under
£10. The sixth edition has been thoroughly revised to take account
of new law, particularly the publication by the Law Commission
of its Draft Criminal Code. Recent case law is again noted in the
text. The various chapters of the book follow a prescribed pattern
with a statement of the law relating to the particular elements of
the offence under consideration; leading cases noted in the text; a
reference, where applicable, to the Draft Code; and then at the
end of each chapter a series of questions, by which the reader can
determine whether he has understood what has gone before.
Specimen examination questions are found in Appendix 3.
This book provides acomprehensive grounding for those new
to the subject, and a useful revision aid for practitioners.
