CIMA and the Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIMC) have signed a memorandum of understanding to establish a centre for the study of management accountancy. It will be based on the IIMC's campus and will conduct research focused on improving financial management practice in India and neighbouring nations.

"CIMA has jointly invested in the centre to provide organisations in India and the surrounding countries with cutting-edge research into how to develop their finance professionals in line with the pace of business change," said Robert Jelly, CIMA's director of education. "India is an important market for us, and our partnership with the IIMC will give employers independent data that is both practical and relevant."
