DECISION
The Application
1. This is an appeal of IN (“the Appellant”) against the Respondent’s decision of
26 July 2024 to cancel the Appellant’s registration as a childminder on the Early
Years Register and both the compulsory and voluntary parts of the General
Childcare Register, under section 68 of the Childcare Act 2006. The appeal is
opposed by the Respondent on the basis that the Appellant no longer meets
the prescribed requirements in relation to both suitability and ability to meet /
sustain the requirements imposed by Regulations, including the Statutory
Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (‘EYFS’).
2. The Tribunal extended the order made on 18 April 2024 under Rule 14(1)(a)
and (b) of the 2008 Rules which therefore remains in place. This prohibits the
disclosure or publication of any documents or matter likely to lead members of
the public to identify the children involved in these proceedings. For the
avoidance of doubt, this will include disclosure or publication of the names of
the parents, the children and the Appellant, given the fact that the Appellant
was only caring for a small number of children.
