Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by sections 2 and 13 of the Child Abduction and Custody Act 19851, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

S-1 This Order may be cited as the Child Abduction and Custody...

1. This Order may be cited as the Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) (Amendment) Order 1996 and shall come into force on 1st March 1996.

S-2 The Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions)...

2. The Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) (Amendment) (No. 3) Order 19952and the Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) (Amendment) (No. 4) Order 19953are revoked.

S-3 The Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) Order...

3. The Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) Order 19864is amended by deleting Schedule 2 and substituting therefor the Schedule at Schedule A to this Order.

S-4 The Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) Order...

4. The Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) Order 19935is amended by deleting the Schedule and substituting therefor the Schedule at Schedule B to this Order.

(This note is not part of the Order)

This Order, which is made under the Child Abduction and Custody Act 1985, amends the Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) Order 1986 to add Poland to the list of Contracting States to the European Convention on Recognition and Enforcement of Decisions concerning Custody of Children and on the Restoration of Custody of Children, signed at Luxembourg on 20th May 1980 (Cm. 191). It also demands the Child Abduction and Custody (Parties to Conventions) Order 1993 in order to specify that, for the purposes of that Act, Colombia is a Contracting State to the Convention on the Civil Aspects of International Child Abduction, The Hague, 25th october 1980 (Cm. 33), with effect from 1st March 1996.
