An Act for confirming a certain Lease granted by
the Mayor and Commonalty and Citizens of the
City of London, Governors of the Possessions,
Revenues, and Goods of the Hospital of King
Edward the Sixth, called Christ's Hospital, and
for extending the Powers to grant Building Leases
given to them by an Act passed in the Sixth Year
of the Reign of King George the Fourth.

HEREAS by an Act of Parliament passed in the Sixth Year
of the Reign of His late Majesty King George the Fourth,
intituled An Act for confirming certain Leases granted by the

Mayor and
Commonalty
and Citizens of the City of London,
Governors
of the
Possessions,
Revenues, and
Goods
of the Hospital of King Edward the Sixth,
called Christ's Hospital, and for enabling them to grant Building Leases of
certain Lands, reciting, as the Fact was, that by a Charter or Letters Patent
of His late Majesty King Edward the Sixth, bearing Date the Twenty-sixth
of June in the Seventh Year of His Reign, the Ordering, Management, and
Government of Christ's
Hospital,
and of the Hospitals of Bridewell
and
Saint
Thomas the Apostle, were vested in the Mayor, Commonalty, and Citizens
of the City of London, and their Successors, and the said Mayor, Com-
monalty, and Citizens were thereby named the Governors of the Possessions,
Revenues, and Goods of the said Hospitals, and were constituted One Body
[Private.'] 6 % Politic
