Christian Eriksen stable in hospital after collapse during Denmark vs Finland

The 29-year-old fell to the ground after 40 minutes at the Parken Stadium, Copenhagen, as medical attention was immediately called.

And the Inter Milan midfielder was stretchered off the pitch as the game was suspended.

But UEFA have now shared an update, writing on Twitter: "Following the medical emergency involving Denmark’s player Christian Eriksen, a crisis meeting has taken place with both teams and match officials and further information will be communicated at 19:45 CET.

"The player has been transferred to the hospital and has been stabilised."

While the Danish team's official Twitter account wrote: "Christian Eriksen is awake and is for further examinations at Rigshospitalet.

"The match is temporarily postponed."

Eriksen had no-one around him when he stumbled forward as a thrown-in was placed his way five minutes before half-time in Denmark.

Referee Anthony Taylor immediately called for medical assistance as the midfielder's team-mates were left in shock.

He was seen receiving CPR from the emergency services before being stretchered off with oxygen after several minutes.

Eriksen's girlfriend Sabrina Kvist Jensen rushed down from the stands before being consoled by captain Simon Kjaer and goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel.

Officials had been seen talking with communication believed to be over whether the game should continue at all with the match soon...
