i.
An
Act
to
enable the City
of
Dublin Steam Packet

to
increase the nominal amount
of
the
ordinary stock
of
the Company. [31st March
1920.1
HEREAS in
OF
about the year one thousand eight hundred
mi
and twenty-eight a company or co-partnership known
as
the City
of
Dublin Steam Packet Company (hereinafter referred
to as “the Company”)
was
formed under a deed
of
settlement
dated the first day
of
January one thousand eight hundred and
twenty-eight for the purpose (amongst other things)
of
trading
by means
of
steam vessels between the ports
of
Dublin and
Liverpool and other places and divers acts of Parliament the
titles whereof are set forth in the schedule hereto have been
passed in relation
to
the Company:
And whereas by the City
of
Dublin Steam Packet Com-
pany’s Act

the Company were incorporated as from the
twenty-fourth
day
of
July

thousand eight hundred and thirty-
three with perpetual succession
:
And whereas the Company have under contract with the
Postmaster-General for many years past conveyed and are still
conveying the mails between Kingstown and Holyhead
:
4nd whereas the Company established and carried on until
recently as hereinafter recited a service
of
trading steamers
between Dublin and Liverpool and Nanchesteu and owned land
buildings and plant at Liverpool in connexion with that
service
:
And whereas previously to the passing
of
the Act next
hereinafter recited the authorised capital
of
the Company
was
seven hundred and fifty thousand pounds consisting
of
five
hundred and eighty-five thousand nine hundred and
fiity
pounds
