COUNTY COURTS

The Civil Courts (Amendment No. 2) Order 1992

Laid before Parliament 9th June 1992

Coming into force 30th June 1992

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 2 of the County Courts Act 19841, hereby makes the following Order:—

S-1 This Order may be cited as the Civil Courts (Amendment No. 2)...

1. This Order may be cited as the Civil Courts (Amendment No. 2) Order 1992 and shall come into force on 30th June 1992.

S-2 The holding of the Maldon County Court shall be discontinued...

2.—(1) The holding of the Maldon County Court shall be discontinued and Schedule 3 to the Civil Courts Order 19832shall accordingly be amended by deleting the entry relating to that court.

(2) The Chelmsford County Court shall have jurisdiction in proceedings commenced in the Maldon County Court before this Order comes into force.

(3) No process shall be invalid only because the holding of the court described therein by name has been discontinued by this Order.

This Order amends the Civil Courts Order 1983 so as to close the Maldon County Court in Maldon, Essex. The Chelmsford County Court is given jurisdiction in proceedings commenced in Maldon before its closure.
