The Civil Defence (Designation of the Minister of Health) (Amendment) Order, 1950

Present,

The King's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Whereas by subsection (2) of section nine of the Civil Defence Act, 1948(a), (hereinafter called "the Act of 1948") it is enacted that the expression "the designated Minister" in that Act means such Minister as may be designated by Order in Council and that different Ministers may be designated for different purposes or different provisions of the Act;

And Whereas by the Civil Defence (Designation of the Minister of Health) Order 1949(b), (hereinafter called "the Order of 1949") the Minister of Health was designated Minister for the purposes of the Act of 1948 in relation to the matters set out in the Schedule to the Order of 1949, subject however to the provisions thereof;

And Whereas it is provided by subsection (2) of section nine of the Act of 1948 that an Order in Council made under that subsection may be varied by a subsequent Order in Council;

And Whereas it is expedient that the Order of 1949 should be varied in manner hereinafter appearing:

Now, therefore, His Majesty is pleased, by and with the advice of His Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

1. The Order of 1949 shall have effect as if the following addition were made to the matters specified in the Schedule thereto, namely:—
