PROBATION

The Combined Probation Areas (Hampshire) Order 1996

Made 24th March 1996

Coming into force in accordance with article 1

The Secretary of State, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 2 of the Probation Service Act 19931, and after the consultation required by that section, hereby makes the following Order:

S-1 This Order may be cited as the Combined Probation Areas...

1.—(1) This Order may be cited as the Combined Probation Areas (Hampshire) Order 1996.

(2) This Order shall come into force on 1st April 1996 save that, for the purpose of making appointments to the probation committee for the Hampshire Probation Area to take effect on that date, this Order shall come into force forthwith.

S-2 That part of Schedule 2 to the Combined Probation Areas Order...

2. That part of Schedule 2 to the Combined Probation Areas Order 19862which relates to the Hampshire Probation Area3shall be amended by substituting in column 3—

(a) “1” for “2” in the entry relating to the petty sessions area of the Isle of Wight;

(b) “1” for “3” in the entries relating to the petty sessions areas of New Forest, North East Hampshire, North West Hampshire, South East Hampshire and Southampton; and

(c) “1” for “4” in the entry relating to the petty sessions area of South Hampshire.

This Order amends the Combined Probation Areas Order 1986 (S.I. 1986/1713) so as to reduce from twenty-one to seven the number of justices appointed to the Hampshire Probation Committee.


(2) S.I.1986/1713, amended by S.I.1992/2121 (which is amended by S.I.1993/92) and 1993/716.
(3) The part relating to Hampshire was amended by S.I.1991/1917 and 1992/3169.
