1. Introduction
COVID-19 globally affected the world in 2020, lockdown was imposed everywhere,
educational institutions started online learning and students faced many challenges
like difficulties in learning and understanding conceptual framework. In less developed
countries like Pakistan, the deficiency of online educational services and training
created academic and emotional challenges for stakeholders (Mukhtar et al.,2020).
Devoid of internet facility, lack of motivation, distant learning problems and many other
technological issues have mostly led the students to psychological implications such as
psychological distress.
Psychological distress means facinganxiety, depression and stress owing to environmental
and other factors (Viertio
¨et al., 2021). Lack of direct and accurate contact with teachers
in online distance learning can lead to student’s high rates of stress and anxiety and low
motivation (Cheng et al., 2020).
