Costco, Asda and Sainsbury's among cheapest places for fuel today

Drivers are keeping an eagle eye on petrol prices following the spike in the cost of living. Prices rose by 7% in the 12 months to March, their fastest rate for 30 years and up from 6.2% in February

The most up-to-date average fuel prices from the RAC revealed unleaded is currently priced at 162.08p while diesel sits at 176.32p. Higher prices for petrol and diesel mean petrol cars will cost £302 more to fill up in 2022 compared to 2021.

For diesel drivers it is even higher, at £323, according to research by GoCompare Car Insurance. With prices varying considerably, it's worth taking some time to find where are the cheapest places to fill up.

PetrolPrices.com has a handy tool that allows drivers to find the cheapest fuel near them. The ECHO has rounded up the cheapest places to get petrol and diesel within five miles of Liverpool.
