Cutting edge £287m helicopter deal will 'create hundreds of jobs in UK'

Fourteen AH-64E Apache aircraft have been delivered to Wattisham Flying Station in Suffolk, with 36 more due to arrive by summer 2024

In the first part of a 20-year deal with Boeing Defence UK to maintain and support the fleet, an £287million investment is expected to create at least 200 jobs atWattisham and THEARMY Aviation Centre in Hampshire.

The helicopters, which have a top speed of 186mph and can detect targets up to a range of 10 miles, are being brought in to replace the Apache AH Mark 1.
