The health ministry of the Czech Republic reported 20,270 new COVID-19 infections, Reuters news agency reported on Tuesday.
This is the highest single-day increase in infections in the country since 1 December 2021, reportedly fuelled by the Omicron COVID-19 variant.
It is also an increase over the 7,342 COVID-19 infections reported a week earlier.
