The Black Cats loss at Blackpool all but ends their hopes for automatic promotion, and the Sunderland skipper is keen to 'stop the rot.'

Lee Johnson's side went closest to opening the scoring when the lively Aiden McGeady cut inside from the left-flank and curled an effort to the far post, which had Chris Maxwell beaten, only to be denied by the post.

Moments later Blackpool countered and a low drive from Luke Garbutt deflected through a body of players and found itself in the back of the net.

"It's disappointing," said Power. "It doesn't seem to be going for us at this moment in time.

"I thought we played pretty well today. Obviously the result is the most important thing which we haven't come away with.

"Fine margins - that one shot in the second half...
