The Divorce County Courts (Amendment) Order 1983

The Lord Chancellor, in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1(1) of the Matrimonial Causes Act 1967(a), hereby makes the following Order:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Divorce County Courts (Amendment) Order 1983 and shall come into operation on the 1st July 1983.

2. For the purposes of section 1(1) of the Matrimonial Causes Act 1967 the Bletchley and Leighton Buzzard County Court and the Lowestoft County Court shall be divorce county courts and courts of trial.

3. Accordingly the following entries shall be inserted in Schedule 1 to the Divorce County Courts Order 1978(b) as amended(c) in their appropriate alphabetical positions:—

"Bletchley and Leighton Buzzard"

"Lowestoft"

Hailsham of St. Marylebone, C.

Dated 24th March 1983.

(b) S.I. 1978/1759.

(c) There are no relevant amendments.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This Note is not part of the Order.)

This Order amends the Divorce County Courts Order 1978 by designating the Bletchley and Leighton Buzzard County Court and the Lowestoft County Court as divorce courts and Courts of trial.
