Driver 'found to be four times over limit' after being stopped for no insurance

The motorist was pulled over when officers detected that he had no insurance. But after stopping the vehicle, the officers from the Springfield Neighbourhood Police Team then discovered that he also had no licence and allegedly driving at four times the drink-drive limit for England and Wales

The male was said to have registered a breath test of 134mg of alcohol per 100 millilitres of breath, compared to the legal limit of 35mg. He was subsequently arrested and his vehicle seized.

Springfield Neighbourhood Police Team said on Twitter: "Officers have pulled over a male this evening for driving with no insurance and the vehicle was seized. Turns out the male had no licence and was driving over the prescribed legal limit at 134mg and was arrested." The Springfield Neighbourhood Police Team covers the inner-city area of Sparkhill, Billesley and Tyseley.
