Editorial - December 2024
We write this introduction in turbulent times, a month before the US elections, with the
news dominated by those, the continuing war in Ukraine, and the Middle East (along with
the rest of the world) awaiting the Israeli response to Iran’s barrage of missiles in response
to the Israeli actions against Hezbollah and the assassination of its leader; the UN reports
that 900,000 people in Lebanon have already been displaced.

the
Ghanaian Affirmative Action (Gender Equity) Bill, which has the object of ensuring the
achievement of gender equality in the political, social, economic, educational and cultural

the journal’s 100th issue at the end of the year with a further special issue marking that
landmark and looking to the future. We will also continue the diverse range of new articles
and case, legislative and policy comments online first and in some issues through the year.
We are also planning on modernizing one aspect of the journal. The journal was first
published in 1995, and the current guidance on submissions states that the journal (still)

some flexibility over the years but we are proposing to formally adopt the newer footnote-
based OSCOLA format (itself marking its 25th anniversary). Submissions will not need to
be in OSCOLA but can be reformatted as part of the revision process. We hope that this
