Editorial note
As part of the Journal of Information Dis covery and Delivery,
special section on “Higher Educatio n Information Discovery,
Analytics, and Dissemination”en deavors to publish research
and practice which explores the dig ital information supply
chain, i.e. conception, flows, adapt ation, exchange and
sharing, including within and between organizations, for
instance. It is also interested in digital information captur e,
consolidation and storage by know ledge creators and users of
all kinds and across all levels, espec ially in higher education
institutions.
Information is widely defined, in cluding but not limited to:
records;
documents;
university accreditations’data;
assurance of learning data;
assessment data;
learning objects;
visual and sound files;
data and metadata and;
user-generated content;
faculty or students reports; and
higher education institutional reports.
This special section and the resp ective selected topics aim to
contain a sample of accepted quality paper s related to
information discovery, knowle dge dissemination and data
analytics in higher education. Fo r instance, as:
empathy-driven participatory research methods in higher
education;
advancement of the learning processes with big data; and
learning analytics in higher education institutions.
We would like to thank and acknowledge the authors who
submitted their research on data analytics, information
discovery and knowledge dissemination in higher education
from theoretical, technological, social, behavioral and
design science perspectives.
Such research produce deploye d diverse theoretical lenses
which focused on human behaviors, pr ocess and system
design, methods, modeling and tec hniques in addressing
various aspects of data processing and applications in higher
education.
