asks
us
to
say
that
it
would
avoid
much
delay
if
all
correspondence
with
probation
officers
in
the
area-where
the
name
and
address
of
the
appropriate
officer
is
not
definitely
known
to
then
enquirer-were
addressed
to
him
in
the
first
in-
stance.

will
be
the

venture
of
this
kind

taken
by
Mid-Southern
Branch.
In=Ham~pshire
the
Probation
Service,
in
conjunction
with
the
Ministry
of
Infor mation,
arranged
for
shoiv-
Ings
of
three
films,
including &dquo;
Children
of
the
City &dquo;,
at
nine-centres
and
altogether
over
1,200
people
have
attended
these
showings.
Others
in
more
rural
areas
are
being
planned
for
in
the
coming
months
and
it
is
pointed
out
that
any
probation
officer
can
secure
these
for
his
own
district
upon
application
to
the
Films
Officer
at
the
regional
office
of
the
Ministry
of
In-
formation.
&dquo; Children
of
the
City
&dquo;
has
been
very
much
discussed
and
most
English
probation
officers
will
feel
that
there
are
quite
a
number
of
points
of
criticism,
but
it
does
serve
a
useful
purpose
in
putting
forth
a
pictorial
representation
of
a
Juvenile
Court
and
some
of
the
associated
services
which
form
a
basis
from
which
an
officer
can
follow
up
and
get
his
own
ideas
over
to
magistrates
and
those
interested.
