Enchanted Woodland ball raises thousands

Beautifully decorated by Chester's own Drape Your Space, the venue was admired by all.
Event co-organisers Nicky Eyes and Andy Everley said: "What a stunning evening. All our guests looked wonderful and entered into the spirit of the Enchanted Woodland.
"With the auction alone raising over £30,000, so many seriously ill children and their families locally will benefit from the extraordinary generosity shown by the bidders.
"We extend a heartfelt thanks to everybody who attended and all the kind businesses who donated prizes and of course Pet Place for being our headline sponsor."
GARDENERS looking for the perfect treat will be pleased to hear tickets have gone on sale for the popular Spring Plant Hunters' Fair at Cholmondeley Castle Gardens on Sunday, April 23.
For this special event entry to the plant fair, gardens and grounds is offered at the special reduced rate of £5 (gardens are normally £8.50).
Martin Blow, of the Plant Hunters' Fairs, said: "The plant fairs at Cholmondeley Castle Gardens have become firm favourites in garden lovers' diaries and this year we have a wonderful line-up of nurseries and garden accessories with plants to suit novice gardeners as well as those rarer gems for the plant connoisseur.
"If you need some advice to help you choose then there are nursery folk on hand to help, each an expert in their field with years of knowledge and experience, and full of helpful tips."
This fair is from 10am-5pm. Dogs on leads are welcome. Refreshments available. The gardens are located between A41 and A49 (SY14 8HN for Satnav).
A HAIR salon in Chester celebrated ten years of business in style by holding a rodeo themed party for clients and friends, who were surprised with a performance from the UK's number one Dolly Parton tribute act.
VAIN first opened ten years ago and have gone from strength to strength. To celebrate their success, party goers at Chester Cathedral were encouraged to dress up for the occasion, where they were also wowed by a Shania Twain and Kenny Rogers tribute.
Owners Jolene Wells and Siobhan Taylor said: "We wanted to show our team and clients how much they were appreciated, and so we decided to throw them a party they'd never forget. It was really lovely to see how many people turned up and to see the support from other local independent businesses."
