The 2019 election changed the
political map in England. Boris
Johnson’s Conservative Party
further cemented its appeal,
relative to Labour, among older, less
educated, working class voters – a dynamic
that was already becoming apparent in
2017. And by winning new seats in former
industrial heartlands in the West Midlands
and the North East of England, it has
notably broadened the party’s regional and
