The European Communities (Designation) Order 1990

Made 14th March 1990

Laid before Parliament 22th March 1990

Coming into force 12th April 1990

At the Court at Buckingham Palace, the 14th day of March 1990Present,The Queen’s Most Excellent Majesty in CouncilHer Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 19721, is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the European Communities (Designation) Order 1990 and shall come into force on 12th April 1990.

S-2 Designation

Designation

2. For the purposes of section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 the Secretary of State is hereby designated in relation to the transfer of contracts of life assurance from one insurance undertaking to another and in relation to anything supplemental or incidental to that matter.

This is a further Order in the series of Orders designating the Ministers who, and departments which, may exercise powers to make regulations conferred by section 2(2) of the European Communities Act 1972 and specifying the matters in relation to which these powers may be exercised.
