Fed-up Edinburgh bar gives 'lifetime ban' to customers who fail to turn up

Hey Palu, an Italian bar situated on Bread Street, made the move in order to avoid repeat offenders, warning that not showing up for a booking post-lockdown is having 'a big impact' on local businesses.

The bar highlighted in a statement on Instagram that other would-be customers have been getting turned away from their premises due to the venue being fully booked - only for a table to then not turn up and the potential walk-up guests gone.

The cocktail bar wrote on their Instagram account: 'No show = No Palu.

"Frustratingly we have now had a few tables simply not show up for their bookings. We know things happen, plans change, or maybe you are having a great time where you are and can't be bothered to move. All cool.

"But at least let us know, there are plenty of ways to do this.

"What people don't realise is by simply not showing up we are still waiting for you, more often than not bars and restaurants (ourselves included) have turned someone away moments before because they think there is a booking coming and no free space.
