Nearly half of the UK's FTSE100 CEOs now have a financial background, according to research carried out by recruitment company Robert Half UK.

The annual Robert Half FTSE100 CEO Tracker revealed that the number of finance-educated CEOs heading FTSE100 firms has risen from 31 per cent three years ago to 49 per cent this year. It also said that of the ten FTSEIOO chief executives appointed in the past 12 months, seven of them have a finance background, suggesting the trend is likely to continue.
