In exercise of the powers conferred on me by section twenty-six of the Fire Services Act, 1947(a), and subsections (1) to (3) of section eight of the Fire Services Act, 1959(b), I hereby, with the approval of the Treasury and after consultation with the Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council and the Scottish Central Fire Brigades Advisory Council, make the following Order:—
PART I
AMENDMENTS TO THE FIREMEN'S PENSION SCHEME, 1956
1. In sub-paragraph (c) of paragraph (1) of Article 6 of the Firemen's Pension Scheme, 1956, set out in the Appendix to the Firemen's Pension Scheme Order, 1956(c), (which relates to the cancellation of ill-health pensions) for the words "his conditions of service" there shall be substituted the words "this Scheme".
2. In sub-paragraph (b) of paragraph (3) of Article 9A of the said Scheme of 1956, as set out in Article 2 of the Firemen's Pension Scheme Order, 1959(d), (which relates to the commutation of pensions) for the words "his conditions of service" there shall be substituted the words "this Scheme".
3.—(1) Paragraph (1) of Article 19 of the said Scheme of 1956, as amended by Article 1 of the Firemen's Pension Scheme Order, 1958(e), (which relates to the duration of a child's allowance) shall be omitted.
(2) In paragraph (2) of the said Article 19 for the words "granted on or after the fourteenth day of March, 1958" there shall be substituted the words "including an allowance granted before the fourteenth day of September, 1959".
4. For paragraph (1) of Article 35 of the said Scheme of 1956 (which relates to pensionable pay) there shall be substituted the following paragraph:—
"(1) In this Scheme the expression "pensionable pay" means the pay of a regular fireman as determined in relation to his rank or, in the case of a chief officer or an assistant chief officer or, in Scotland, a firemaster or an assistant firemaster, his pay as determined for the post.".
5.—(1) For sub-paragraph (a) of paragraph (1) of Article 59 of the said Scheme of 1956 (which relates to temporary employment in connection with the provision of fire services) there shall be substituted the following sub-paragraph:—
"(a) employment as an instructor at the central training institution or any training centre maintained by the Secretary of State;".

(d) S.I. 1959/802 (Pt. I, p. 1282, of this vol).
(e) S.I. 1958/370 (1958 I, p. 1153).
(2) In paragraph (2) of the said Article 59—
(a) at the end of sub-paragraph (b) there shall be added the following words:—
"or, where section ten of the Fire Services Act, 1959, applies in his case, the same as his pay and rank as a member of a fire brigade;";
(b) in sub-paragraph (g) for the words "Article 44" there shall be substituted the words "Articles 44, 62B and 62C".
6. After Article 62A of the said Scheme of 1956 there shall be inserted the following Articles:—
