Munich - On Sunday, March 31, 2024, Munich Airport launches its summer flight schedule, which this year runs until Saturday, October 26. The airlines have announced more than 3,300 departures per week for this seven-month period, approximately twelve percent more than in summer 2023.
Around 2,400 of them will be heading to more than 100 destinations in 21 countries in Europe and around the Mediterranean. More than 330 flights will serve 47 intercontinental destinations, including 24 in Asia, 19 in North and Central America, and four in Africa. In addition, 600 flights to 13 domestic German destinations are scheduled for the summer timetable.
The airlines at Munich Airport are again offering many new attractive destinations this summer. Lufthansa will be serving Seattle with three weekly flights on long-haul routes to the US starting in June. US airline Delta will also be flying to New York's John F. Kennedy Airport three times a week starting on April 11.
From September, Lufthansa will add Johannesburg in South Africa to its schedule with three weekly flights. There are now daily flights from Munich to the Chinese capital Beijing and to Osaka in Japan. Starting on July 2, the Japanese airline All Nippon Airways will also be flying to Tokyo seven times a week. San Diego in southern California will be served by Lufthansa five times a week during the summer timetable period.
Vietnam Airlines will take off from Munich Airport for the first time starting in October 2024. In so doing, the airline is expanding its Asian flight schedule from Munich and will fly passengers twice a week to each of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. The airline will use a Boeing B787-9 for these new flights.
