Coming into force 31th December 2000

The Secretary of State in exercise of the powers conferred on him by section 1(2) of the Football Spectators Act 19891hereby makes the following Order:

S-1 Citation and commencement

1. This Order may be cited as the Football Spectators (Designation of Football Matches in England and Wales) Order 2000 and shall come into force on 31st December 2000.

S-2 Designation of football matches

Designation of football matches

2.—(1) Football matches of the description specified in paragraph (2) below are hereby designated for the purposes of Part I of the Football Spectators Act 1989.

(2) The football matches to which paragraph (1) above applies are any association football match which is played at Wembley Stadium, at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff or at a sports ground in England and Wales which is registered with the Football League or the Football Association Premier League as the home ground of a club which is a member of the Football League or the Football Association Premier League at the time the match is played.

This Order designates football matches for the purposes of Part I of the Football Spectators Act 1989. The relevant provisions of Part I currently in force relate to the functions of the Football Licensing Authority.
