The Queen's Most Excellent Majesty in Council

Her Majesty, in exercise of the powers conferred on Her by section 2(1) of the Fugitive Offenders Act 1967(a), is pleased, by and with the advice of Her Privy Council, to order, and it is hereby ordered, as follows:—

1. This Order may be cited as the Fugitive Offenders (Designated Commonwealth Countries) Order 1986 and shall come into operation on 1st January 1987.

2. The following countries are hereby designated for the purposes of section 1 of the Fugitive Offenders Act 1967:—

Brunei

Maldives

Vanuatu

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This Note is not part of the Order.)

Section 2(1) of the Fugitive Offenders Act 1967 enables any country within the Commonwealth to be designated by Order in Council for the purposes of section 1 of the Act (so that provisions of the Act relating to the return of offenders to independent Commonwealth countries will apply). This Order designates Brunei, Maldives and Vanuatu for those purposes.
