CONSENT ORDER
Miss Stamp, I have the consent order, which is in the same form as the draft order, is it not?
MISS STAMP: That is right.
I do not have a problem with the substance, I just wondered how the 3-month period fitted together. The extension you are asking for is 3 months from 1 April and then the review is to be 3 months from today. That 3 months is provided by the section itself, is it not?
MISS STAMP: Yes, indeed, albeit the hearing —
That 3 months will end before the extension, so that is all right too. It will because it is not yet 1 April. There will have to be a review before the period of the extension itself runs out. It seems to me to be all right. I am just thinking it through. That seems to be the right way around.
MISS STAMP: Yes, that is the case.
What I did not want is to have a review which might occur after the extension itself expires, but it is not going to happen that way now I look at it. I think in the evidence there is a reference to there being some further step taken by the General Dental Council; is that not what is said? Paragraph 14 "adequate time to prepare for the PCC hearing listed for 4 and 5 June", so matters will be determined at or following that hearing.
MISS STAMP: Indeed.
I will make that order. I will initial it for 24 March. Is there anything else that needs to be dealt with?
MISS STAMP: No.
Thank you very much.
