Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, Ghana's former first lady of two decades, has published a memoir of her life in a book called It Takes a Woman.
The book discusses events and politics during Ghana's post-independence period, in which Nana Konadu's husband, Jerry John Rawlings, served as Head of State, then President for 21 years.
Rawlings said it was a good first step in clarifying incidents that took place years ago. "Let us profit from the truth by taking it beyond mere academic exercises," he said.
