GIANTS FEAR INJURY WILL RULE SWIFT OUT FOR LENGHTY SPELL

The winger aggravated a groin injury during their Challenge Cup defeat to Warrington Wolves and they are waiting to discover the severity of the problem

Swift had missed the defeat to Wigan Warriors the week ahead of the semi-final and while he returned at the weekend, he was withdrawn at half-time and did not return, sparking concern.

The Giants do not yet know the extent of the injury but there are concerns that Swift, who has scored 17 tries in 13 appearances since his arrival at the club, could be out for the foreseeable future.

"We're still waiting on the scan results," assistant coach Luke Robinson said. "We had to wait for all the swelling to go down. It's not looking great at this moment in time, but we won't know until we get the scan results back.

"Just the way that he's been speaking and talking with the physios. I don't want to make any guesses yet, we'll have to wait until the scans come back, but it's not looking great at this moment in time."
