Glasgow Marks & Spencer store on Sauchiehall Street to close for good today

The shock closure was announced back in January, with M&S blaming "changing shopping habits" which required them to focus their investment "on the right stores in the right places"

The retailer added that they would continue to invest in their 12 other stores in Glasgow, including their Argyle Street branch.

The Sauchiehall Street site was its first in Scotland with an in-store café. It retains the frontage of the Art Deco building that opened in November 1935.
