GMB's Richard Madeley says wedding rules uncertainty has 'really screwed up' son and fianc

Richard Madeley says his son and future daughter-in-law are among the couples who've been "really screwed up" by the anticipated changed to the end of lockdown.

The Good Morning Britain host shared his family's experience while presenting a segment on wedding restrictions alongside Susanna Reid, The Mirror reports.

His son, Jack Madeley, plans to marry fiancée Issy at the end of June -but plans could be scuppered if lockdown isn't lifted on June 21.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson is expected to announce a six-week extension to the current restrictions this evening.

Speaking on the ITV show, the 65-year-old presented admitted that it's not been easy for the couple.

He said: "My own daughter-in-law has lost a considerable amount of weight because she simply can't eat."

Whilst they "know it's not the end of the world" he said the uncertainty was "doing their heads in" and that the question marks over the date had "really screwed up" their plans.
