GMB's Susanna Reid dubbed the 'new Piers Morgan' after Matt Hancock spat; Susanna Reid took on Health Secretary Matt Hancock in a tense interview on Tuesday's Good Morning Britain.

Good Morning host Susanna Reid drew comparisons to Piers Morgan after a fraught interview with Matt Hancock on Tuesday's show.

Piers had some memorable clashes with the Health Secretary over the past year as he tried to hold the Government to account on some of their actions during the coronavirus pandemic.

Piers is of course no longer part of the GMB team after he quit the show two weeks ago, following on air clash with colleague Alex Beresford over Meghan Markle.

But some viewers said it felt like Piers was in the studio on Tuesday as things got tense between his former co-host Susanna and Hancock, a week on from her tense exchange with Patsy Palmer.

On the subject of PPE, the Health Secretary began: "We of course have learned the importance of having on shore supplies of PPE, and now 70% of our PPE, other than gloves, is manufactured here in the UK"

Immediately taking him to task, Susanna interrupted: "Can I ask you about a couple of things" to which he responded: "Let me finish, that is an example -"

Adopting a more sarcastic tone, Susanna fired back "Well done, it was way too late, can I ask you about, we haven't got very long with you and I want to ask you about care homes."

"Sorry, can you let me answer," Hancock continued, but Susanna spoke over him loudly.
